First Aid Measures
【Ingestion】DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If the victim is conscious and not convulsing, give 1 or 2 glasses of water to dilute the chemical and IMMEDIATELY call a hospital or poison control center. Be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital if advised by a physician.
【Inhalation】IMMEDIATELY leave the contaminated area; take deep breaths of fresh air. If symptoms (such as wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath, or burning in the mouth, throat, or chest) develop, call a physician and be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital. Provide proper respiratory protection to rescuers entering an unknown atmosphere. Whenever possible, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) should be used.
【Skin】IMMEDIATELY flood affected skin with water while removing and isolating all contaminated clothing. Gently wash all affected skin areas thoroughly with soap and water. If symptoms such as redness or irritation develop, IMMEDIATELY call a physician and be prepared to transport the victim to a hospital for treatment.
【Eyes】First check the victim for contact lenses and remove if present. Flush victim's eyes with water or normal saline solution for 20 to 30 minutes while simultaneously calling a hospital or poison control center. Do not put any ointments, oils, or medication in the victim's eyes without specific instructions from a physician. IMMEDIATELY transport the victim after flushing eyes to a hospital even if no symptoms (such as redness or irritation) develop.

Handling and Storage
【Storage】Store at ambient temperatures with venting.
【Handling】All chemicals should be considered hazardous. Avoid direct physical contact. Use appropriate, approved safety equipment. Untrained individuals should not handle this chemical or its container. Handling should occur in a chemical fume hood.

Hazards Identification
【Inhalation】Ingestion of large amounts may cause bradypnea, respiratory failure, hyperventilation, or pulmonary edema.
【Skin】Direct contact may cause skin irritation. Chlorodioxin contamination of products may produce chloracne with heavy exposure.
【Eyes】See Skin.
【Ingestion】Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea have been reported. Necrosis of the gastrointestinal mucosa has been reported.
【Hazards】Containers may explode when heated.
【UN (DOT)】2765

Exposure Controls/Personal Protection
【Personal Protection】Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any reasonable probability of skin contact. Wear eye protection to prevent any possibility of eye contact.
【Respirators】Wear a NIOSH-approved half face respirator equipped with an organic vapor/acid gas cartridge (specific for organic vapors, HCl, acid gas and SO2) with a dust/mist filter.
【Exposure Effects】Low dose exposures - verti, headache, malaise, and paresthesias may occur depending on the specific compound involved. High dose exposures - muscle twitching, spasms, profound weakness, polyneuritis, and unconsciousness may occur depending on the specific compound involved. Idiosyncratic reactions - peripheral neuropathies 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T have caused adverse reproductive effects in experimental animals. Allegations of human birth defects due to these compounds have not been confirmed.
【Exposure limit(s)】OSHA: PEL (8 h TWA): 10 mg/m3.

Fire Fighting Measures
【Flash Point】51.7℃
【Fire Fighting】Fires involving this material can be controlled using a dry chemical, carbon dioxide or Halon extinguisher.
【Fire Potential】This chemical is combustible.

Accidental Release Measures
【Small spills/leaks】If you spill this chemical, FIRST REMOVE ALL SOURCES OF IGNITION. Then, use absorbent paper to pick up all liquid spill material. Your contaminated clothing and absorbent paper should be sealed in a vapor-tight plastic bag for eventual disposal. Solvent wash all contaminated surfaces with 60-70% ethanol followed by washing with a soap and water solution. Do not reenter the contaminated area until the Safety Officer (or other responsible person) has verified that the area has been properly cleaned.

Stability and Reactivity
【Stability】At pH 9 @ 20 C, half-life in distilled water is 37 hr; at pH 6 @ 20 C, in distilled water is 1500 days. Shelf life of ester formulations varies, depending on the emulsifying system. Some retain satisfactory emulsifying properties after 3 yr.
【Incompatibilities】Strong oxidizing acids may cause a virous reaction that is sufficiently exothermic to ignite the reaction products.
【Combustion Products】Irritating hydrogen chloride may form in fire.
